Top Shelf Todd Stories
Michael Block
Dear Todd,
You make people feel like you’re their best friend; this is what you did for me.
We most likely met when I was 12, as I started BBYO early, in the 2nd half of my 8th grade year. At my first AZA meeting, I quickly noticed the loudest & funniest guy in the room; YOU.
That was the beginning of an eternal friendship. You made my BBYO & overall high school experience that much better, just knowing my friend was 30 minutes away, in Boca Raton.
After choosing The University of Florida to pursue my further education, I knew that having you there would continue to positively affect my life. I was so excited to join Tau Epsilon Phi with you and all the brothers. The good times we all had together in Gainesville were in large part due to YOU.
I’ll always have a plethora of memories that we shared together. I thank you for that.
You’ll forever be in my heart ♥️
I LOVE YOU TB,
Michael Block

When we first moved to Wellington I wanted to start a Dad’s night out. Basically go out with a few local guys for wings and beer. It was a great success lasting as I write this for over 12 years. The group now has over 25 guys. However we always just went to a local wings place. Todd wanted to do a top shelf version. He organized several bourbon and steak nights. From bringing wing night on the road to local steakhouses or hosting at Todd’s, he elevated the event . These nights are always fun and a great night to catch up with the local crew.

A few months after I met Todd we were at dinner with a group of friends. I was just finishing up my involvement with one volunteer organization and looking to get involved in another one. Todd asked if I wanted to join the board of the Boys and Girls Club. He was already a new member of the executive board. This was a good opportunity and great timing so I accepted. Shortly thereafter I joined the board. One of the first things Todd wanted to do was throw a pizza party for the kids. We were barely involved at that point but he organized a pizza party. We picked up and delivered the pizzas to the club one night and served the food to the kids. They loved it. The rest of the established board was so impressed that these 2 new members immediately gave back and volunteered their evening to host a pizza party for the kids. It was a very fun time and a springboard to future involvement and a path to executive leadership. Todd and I served together for years on that board. This is an example of his leadership and how he always brings out the best in people. With Todd you always need to bring your A game . This early event together formed a strong friendship and a successful journey as a board member.

Dear Todd,
I first met you at a kids birthday party, in the pool, and that’s when we started to hang out sporadically. We really didn’t become close friends until after my divorce, about six years ago. I remember soo clearly how you would always check up on me to see how I was doing, invite me to events like the polo club w the kids, concerts and honey night club (yes I did win father of the year for bringing my kids to honey and 2 live crew) One particular night, you invited me to a Chris Kattan comedy show in Delray Beach hosted by Johny Quest. I met you downtown Delray Beach and the first thing you said was let’s go here and see my “boy”, and next thing I know we ended up on a yacht getting lobster deliveries from local restaurant. We then ubered back to the show where we met up with Deb and of course sat in the front row. And of course VIP meet and pics with Chris Kattan after. Just as a note, the pic of Kattan and I is a reason why I’m with Rena.
Since I love wearing these crazy t-shirts, one said “Pedro offers you his protection” from napoleon dynamite. And yes, you called me Pedro ever since, or Gilani guy.
You are a first class guy and you are the Mench. You were there for me when I needed the most and I will never forget that.
Todd, you are a legend. And legends never die.
Love you brother,
Pedro Gilani

Todd Barron.. Where do I start? You were my roomate in the house. Room 10. The "Party" room. We were perfect roomates. You slept all day and partied all night and I can sleep through anything so I slept at night and worked all day. The Ying and Yang. I remember just walking into room 10 and there were 10-15 people just laying on our couches on the loft, basically passed out.. every night.. LOL. You were always though the most considerate, kindness person. We never argued. Always looked out for each other and you cleaned the room! So many stories happened in room 10. Then, I moved to K46 where the Legend of Todd Barron continued, but became legendary. It is 1992. Nosebowl. We had just won. The party is in Oxford manner. The Andres was flowing! We look up on the roof of one of the apartments and there he was... Todd Barron in his birthday suit drinking $5 champagne.. NAKED! The legend was born! I'll never forget the good times we had. You were always the life of the party and would give your shirt off your back to anyone. That smile is infectious and I'll always remember that. You lived life to its fullest and left your heart on the table. Hard to say goodbye to someone as special as you. I will never forget you. Keep fighting!
