A few months after I met Todd we were at dinner with a group of friends. I was just finishing up my involvement with one volunteer organization and looking to get involved in another one. Todd asked if I wanted to join the board of the Boys and Girls Club. He was already a new member of the executive board. This was a good opportunity and great timing so I accepted. Shortly thereafter I joined the board. One of the first things Todd wanted to do was throw a pizza party for the kids. We were barely involved at that point but he organized a pizza party. We picked up and delivered the pizzas to the club one night and served the food to the kids. They loved it. The rest of the established board was so impressed that these 2 new members immediately gave back and volunteered their evening to host a pizza party for the kids. It was a very fun time and a springboard to future involvement and a path to executive leadership. Todd and I served together for years on that board. This is an example of his leadership and how he always brings out the best in people. With Todd you always need to bring your A game .
